A 16 year old young activist Anuj Desai has started a movement to free young Indians from the clutches of Cancer.

Eminent Singer Shaan has participated in this movement titled “Cancer Free India 2020”. He has sung a song based on the concept of NO SMOKING. Speaking about the song, Shaan says, “The song somewhere reminds me of my childhood. I was bereaved with a premature demise of my father who was a smoker. This was a huge loss for me.”

            Anuj Desai is actively joined by his father Tushar Desai in this movement which has a slogan as “No smoking papa because I love you…”.Tushar quit smoking when young Anuj requested him in a distressed emotional tone for not smoking. Finally Tushar gave way and quit smoking. The request from Anuj was from the dread as his grandmother had passed away due to cancer and he was afraid of the same as a result of continued smoking by his father. Finding Anuj distressed his father Tushar felt hurt. Although Tushar was sharing his experiences with everyone in a heart to heart fashion, it was also essential that the awareness regarding the same had to be conveyed to every citizen of the country.

            With this in view Anuj, studying FY Commerce at Ritumbhara College, Andheri started implementing the movement in a big way. He has resolved to achieve freedom from Cancer for the youth of India by 2020. Anuj considers that the youth of India should take the lead. In order to take the message of NO SMOKING to the Indian youth he has effectively used the medium of MUSIC. His father Tushar Desai, relatives and total friend circle is helping him in every way they can to make Anuj’s dream come true.

            Speaking about this movement, Anuj said, ‘Everyone joined me on the positive concept put forward by me and each one of them is helping me. The song has been set to music by me friends Pritesh-Mitesh and has been sung beautifully by none other than Shaan sir. Most importantly Shaan sir has sung the song totally free. Anuj is confident that even the Government will take a note of this effort. The song by Shaan also has a voice by Priyanshi, a contestant at the Voice of India contest. Considering that the innocence and truth of a child is the essence of success of this movement, Anuj and his team are making efforts so that the song reaches maximum people. Tushar Desai said that the team is making efforts to rope in social networking sites, music channels and theatre trailers to take the message to the young people.
